Emergency Response Israel/Gaza – Updates from EE, O2 and Vodafone

Following the recent events in Israel and Gaza, we wanted to share with our customers the responses that we have received from EE, O2, and Vodafone.

The networks want to ensure that customers can stay in touch with loved ones during this difficult time.

EE Update

EE are providing free calls, texts, and data for EE customers from and to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories from 10th October until 17th October (inclusive).

O2 Update

O2 will be crediting back charges for calls and texts from the UK to Israel and Palestinian Authority territories for Virgin Media O2 customers, as well as roaming charges for mobile calls, texts and data used in Israel and Palestinian Authority territories from 7th-17th October.

Customers don’t need to contact O2. O2 will be crediting back charges automatically.

This is inclusive of O2 Pay Monthly, O2 Pay As You Go, Virgin Mobile Landline and O2 Business Mobile & VMB Landline customers.

Please don’t raise any credits yourself as they’ll be done automatically. If you spot charges on your account before they’ve been credited, these will subsequently be credited back.

Vodafone Update

Vodafone will be crediting Vodafone UK customers who use calls, texts, and data roaming in Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territories from 7 to 17 October (inclusive). They will also be crediting all calls and texts from customers in the UK contacting friends and family in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories during this period.

In response to the news of the major earthquake in Afghanistan, they will also be crediting Vodafone UK customers who use calls, texts, and data in Afghanistan from 7 to 17 October (inclusive).

As well as this, Vodafone will be crediting all calls and texts from customers in the UK contacting friends and family in Afghanistan during this period. Please note that mobile connectivity could be affected by damage to local networks.

All credits will be applied automatically for credit usage from 7 – 17 October. Customers will receive an SMS from Vodafone when their first credit has been raised.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those impacted by the recent events in Israel and Gaza.
